Welcome to the House of the Giant Red Fir
Spacious 4 Bedroom (or 3 Bedroom & Office), 4 bath, 3 deck professionally
decorated home located in wooded knoll area a few steps from forest service
land in one direction and a few blocks from the Village and Gondola in
another. This artistic, completely remodeled mountain home is clad in Stone
and Logs and features interior quartzite floors, slate vertical surfaces,
granite and concrete counters, knotty pine doors with rust hardware, knotty
hickory cabinets, high ceilings and large windows throughout. Upon arrival,
you are welcomed by a smiling 8 foot iron flower (not yet photographed). If
you look up, up , up you'll notice what may be the tallest and oldest red
fir in Mammoth Knolls, hence the name "House of the Giant Red Fir". Step
inside and you'll be greeted by a tranquil, trickling waterfall.
The south-facing, sunny, second floor living area in the treetops is built
for entertaining with a luxurious spacious kitchen, dining room, living
room, library or 4th bedroom, full bath and three decks - from cozy to large
in size. Well-planned, party-sized, inviting Kitchen includes stainless
steel appliances, convertible convection or standard oven, large microwave,
cook-top with 4 gas burners and indoor gas grill, two-drawer dishwasher and
instant 190 degree water.
Living area centers on slate fireplace wall with built-in 32" satellite TV.
Large sectional provides relaxing "feet-up" (no shoes allowed on couch,

Reconfigurable library/4th bedroom features library wall and view of
spectacular 10-ft diameter giant red fir tree.
Sleeping accommodations can be reconfigured to suit your family and friends
easily accommodating 6 to 10, or possibly 12. (additional fees may apply
over 6 full time residents.) There is even a Harry Potter nook in the
Lodgepole Pine Suite for a special child. 2 Fireplaces, 3 master suites with
ensuite bathrooms - 2 with jacuzzi tubs. Master has combination
jacuzzi tub/steam bath and his and her dual height vanities. Let us know the
configuration of your group and we will let you know how we can configure
the sleeping arrangements to suit your needs.
The
over-sized three car garage boasts a vaulted ceiling, sliding glass pedestrian
door and heat.
Heat is available via gas forced hot air, two fireplaces, radiant in floor heat
in selected areas, and passive solar in the spacious kitchen. A
recirculating pump provides rapid access to hot water throughout the home.
High-speed Wireless Internet and Dish Satellite TV are available throughout.
Whether you stay for a month, a year or a lifetime, you are visiting a magical
mountain, stay in a magical home.
